"Sinigang" Sour Soup

     "Sinigang" is a typical Filipino cuisine that is loved by many Pinoy because of the tropical climate of the Philippines. The refreshing sour taste of the soup makes a cooling sensation and comfortable feeling. The sour taste of the soup is from the tamarind, sometimes others uses "calamansi " or other sour fruit and vegetable to create the sour taste of the soup. The most famous sour ingredient widely used in the Philippines is the unripe tamarind fruit. And because of science and advance technology, we are able to make cooking easy with the ready to used sinigang mix.

    In cooking a delicious pork sinigang  dish we will be needing the following ingredients:

        1/2 kg. Pork Liempo cut into cubes

        2 pcs. medium size tomato cut into a quarters

        1 pc medium size onion cut into a quarters

        2 pcs medium size finger chilies

        1 pc small radish peeled and sliced

        1 pc medium size eggplant sliced

        100 g string beans cut into 3 inches long

        1/2 cup kangkong leaves or river spinach

        we are also be needing water for the soup, fish sauce, and ground pepper to taste


Cooking Procedure

        In a casserole put the pork and add water just to cover the meat then let the meat cooked until tender in medium heat.

        Add a little bit of water just to cover the meat and bring to boil

        Add the tomatoes and onion and let it simmer for 5-10 mins

        When the tomatoes and onions are cooked add the sinigang mix, dissolve properly, then add the string beans, sliced eggplant, and radish and cook until crisp approximately 4-5 mins on medium heat

        Adjust the saltiness by adding fish sauce and add a little bit of pepper to taste then lastly add the kangkong leaves, finger chilies and cook for another 3 mins then enjoy your delicious pork sinigang
